The tunnel has a unique past and was originally built in 1950 by the MOD to better understand aerodynamic forces, such as the phenomenon of an aircraft flat spin then later to test the resilience and success of items such as ejector seats. In the late 90′s the tunnel was demilitarised but with a great deal of hard work and investment the tunnel was bought back to life, as the UK’s first and World’s largest skydiving tunnel. So you’ll be experiencing a bit of history too.
